Neon Popsicle

In 2017, I launched an e-commerce store for ordering custom neon signs. After ordering one for a local business, I found the process lacking: buying a neon sign locally is expensive, and there is too much friction in ordering online from most sites. Sites are either outdated, hard to navigate, or don’t offer pricing upfront.

Seeing an opportunity, I redesigned and implemented a new online ordering experience. I found a successful formula by combining an easy to use real-time sign designer with live previews, and instant quotes. The main channels for growth were social and adwords traffic.

I built the site as a static site using Vue.js for the custom ordering page. The custom admin backend is built with Vue and uses Firestore and cloud functions, hosted on the Google Cloud platform. The checkout is handled by Snipcart.
