Find the Beat was a quick game made for a hackathon in Unity. My talented friend, Mike Bender, and I paired up to make this game over a weekend. It was the first time either of us had made a game in the then-newly launched Unity engine for mobile.

The game grabs five popular remixes off of soundcloud every day and generates a unique maze for each song. The player navigates using stereo audio cues to find the end of the maze, and beat the level, unlocking the next song. It was inspired by the forest level from Zelda on 64. For a weekend game, made using something new to us, it turned out decent. But, by any other standard, it’s kinda lame.

Currently still available for Android and iOS until the soundcloud api dies.
