Where is Don?

Before everyone had location tracking, before the iPhone even had GPS, before the magic of Find My Phone, and before Google, Facebook and every random app started tracking everything, there was a site. My site. Where is Don? Using an early BlackBerry with GPS, and some homebrew software, I had my own version. It was live for about 5 years, and showed a real time feed of where I was. I mainly used it along with a “lifestream” (flickr/twitter/email to blog) to document my motorcycle travels. Here are some screenshots of a couple iterations of the site.

Now of course, I can just share my location with loved ones straight from my Android in Google Maps, without all the work. How times have changed.
